Fuzzy Med Math?

I just read that the CBO estimated the Sen Finance Committee health reform bill would cost $829 billion (Woo hoo! JUST that much!) over 10 years.
It also will reduce the deficit by $81 billion in 10 years.
I wish our family could celebrate when we spend $8,000 in order to save $800.

WOW!!!

Why do I get the feeling that some democrats (not all, thank goodness) on the Hill don't even care about those numbers - even though they are coming from the non partisan CBO? It's as if they're totally fine (seriously!) with bankrupting our country as long as they win this "moral battle" of extending universal coverage to every American. With this in mind, I'm beginning to think that Joe Biden didn't gaffe when he said "we have to keep spending money to keep from going bankrupt," but that he truly believes it.

Interesting how the shortest blog posts tend to pack the most punch.
