I was just wondering if anybody heard about Joe Biden's recent interview where he took credit for the success in Iraq as "one of this administration's greatest achievements"?
Now I've been one of this current administration's harshest critics from the outset (even during the campaign), so it goes without saying that I think he's just totally full of it (even more than usual--if that's even possible, lol), but I'm curious to hear everyone else's reaction to it. Is there even any credibility left to lose at this point, or is that why Biden thought he could get away with such an audaciously idiotic statement (given his ardent OPPOSITION to the surge and everything Bush did in Iraq literally the entire freaking time!!)...since people don't even take them seriously anymore, anyway?
I guess there's two questions here: 1) is there any credibility left to lose for Obama, and 2) if so, then to what extent does that outright, two-faced (I mean they blame all the bad stuff on Bush, yet somehow they get to take credit for his greatest success...really?) lie hinder it. I mean it is Joe Biden, after all...

Sometimes I think of Joe Biden like Andy Richter on the former Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. You never knew quite what he was going to say, and often you just had to shake your head.
Joe Biden and the Obama administration cannot have any legitimate claim to the success in Iraq. If I recollect correctly, Biden did say thanks to George Bush at the end of his interview.
With all that being said, if we do see success in Afghanistan, the original war on terrorism, I do think that most of the credit would lie with the Obama administration. The war in Afghanistan was highly mismanaged by the Bush administration, in my opinion, and I think Pres. Obama has been right on in his role as Commander-in-Chief in regard to Afghanistan.
On a side note I heard Sarah Palin say we'd all think Barack Obama was tougher if he'd declare war on Iran...is this lady serious? She's kind of like the Joe Biden for republicans, only better looking and with a goofier accent. If repubs pick her to run for pres in 2012 over Mitt Romney I will forever lose all respect for the GOP.
@Creighton -- Comparing Joe Biden to Andy Richter = pure genius!
To answer the OP, I think his statement was ridiculous for a different reason: how can anyone call what we have done in Iraq a "success"? I mean, what did we get for our billions of dollars and thousands of soldiers killed and thousands of innocents murdered? I've got the receipt, I just don't know what we bought.
I think the Bush Legacy needs as many compliments as it can get, even from Joe Biden, even in an attempt to garner kudos for the Obama Administration. V.P. Biden's comment put everyone in a weird spot. Do Republicans want to admit that V.P. Biden was right in labeling the Iraq war effort a success?
